Painting with a Purpose

I paint (and draw with pastels) to help the Bible come alive and to develop teaching tools and resources that can be used for Christian education both in person and virtually. Through colorful, vibrant, and vivid artwork, I seek to illustrate the people, places, and events of God’s Word in ways that seem to leap off the pages of Scripture and speak God’s truth into the hearts and lives of people today.

My desire is to creatively communicate the greatest story ever told—the birth, life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, who came to forgive our sins and bring the hope, love, joy, and peace found only in Him. Through these works, I hope to encourage people to know Jesus more deeply and, for some, to encounter Him as Lord and Savior for the very first time.

Art also provides opportunities for people to slow down, reflect, ponder, and wonder. I strive to create pieces that bring people together through meaningful conversations, personal reflection, and cherished family memories.

For me personally, painting is also a way to navigate the sadness, brokenness, and frustrations of the world while finding solace, purpose, and fulfillment through a God-given gift and learned skill that has been nurtured through years of learning, practice, encouragement, and affirmation from others. My prayer is that each piece not only inspires the imagination but also points people to the beauty, truth, and grace of God.
